Set of 6 CH29 Sawbuck chairs originally designed by Hans Wegner in 1952.
These chairs are lacquered solid beech with a removable seat pad. The chairs retain their Carl Hansen labels and are dated 2006, Carl Hansen ceased production of this chair with this type of seat pad in 2008.
The chairs are strong structurally, the wood has the odd mark and knock but is generally good, the lacquer is a bit worn and rough in places and although usable as it is it would benefit from stripping and refinishing. The seat pads need new upholstery, they are attached to the frame by 6 screws on the chairs underside so removing and recovering is a straightforward and relatively cheap process. There are a total of 7 nuts missing in total however because each seat has 6 screws this is not significant and the pads are all held well.
