Charles Eames Soft Pad Sofa for Herman Miller

£5299 (reserved)

The soft pad sofa was originally designed in 1967, it was the last piece of furniture designed by produced by the Eames office, it was completed in 1978 after Charles Eames died and has been in constant production by Herman Miller since 1984.

The sofa features black leather upholstery, polished aluminium legs and arms and solid walnut sculpted frame and back panels.

Vitra do not make this sofa so it is super rare to see one in Europe.

It was purchased in 2014 (manufactured in 2013) and as well as having the Eames Herman Miller labels attached we also have the certificate of authenticity.

The sofa is in excellent condition.  There are a couple of small paint marks on the top corners and the top walnut panel has dried slightly.  The leather is very good throughout.

The sofa currently retails in the USA for 13,835 dollars (around £11,400).
