Pieff Alpha swivel armchair

SOLD

Large, steel grey leather and chrome swivel armchair designed in the 1970s by Tim Bates for Pieff of Worcester and retailed by shops like Harrods & Heals.

The chair has 3 removable leather cushions, the base cushion sits on top of a quality pirelli seat support which is attached to the chrome frame and a heavy duty vinyl stretcher attaches to the back frame to support the 2 back cushions.

The chair was originally purchased in 1978 and was reupholstered approximately 20 years ago.  The leather is in very good condition, with no rips, tears or stains just some age consistent wear.   The chrome is very good and retains a strong shine.  For complete accuracy, on close inspection there is some minor wear to the chrome around the base and one of the foot glides has suffered some damage but it still 'grips' the chrome foot and does not affect the chair's stability.

A
fantastic example of British mid century design.
