Joe glove chair for Poltronova

SOLD

Vintage Joe glove chair for Poltronova, Italy, originally designed in 1970 by architects De Pas, D'Urbino and Lomazzi.

This giant sofa/chair features a metal frame covered in moulded polyurethane foam and upholstered in brown tan leather with feature 'glove' ties and fingers.  The chair is designed in the shape of a large baseball glove and was named after US baseball legend Joe Di Maggio.

The leather on the seat is well-worn and faded but is free from rips or tears (please see pictures).  The chair was bought from a central London design studio.

This chair is full of character as would be expected of a chair around 20 years old.  It would benefit from a professional clean and the leather could be professionally re-coloured and treated.  This would remove a musty odour that has come from storage and also refinish the leather.

Sold in it's original condition to allow the buyer to decide.

Three of the four castors are missing.  This does not affect the chair's stability and the castor threads are sound so replacements could be sourced.  The chair retains it's Poltronova label.

The current retail price for this chair is around £9,000.
