Le Corbusier Cassina LC4 Chaise

SOLD

Genuine LC4 for Cassina originally designed by Le Corbusier in 1928.

Instantly recognisable, rarely available Bauhaus classic, this is one of the most famous lounge chairs ever designed.

Black leather on a polished chrome plated steel frame with a mat black enamel base.

This chaise is in very good condition.  The leather is excellent showing very little signs of wear.  The black base has a few minor knocks mainly around the top supports but nothing that stands out or detracts.  One of the straps that holds the cushion to the frame is missing (see photo 8) although the leather strap with poppers is still present so this could be fixed cheaply if desired but is not really necessary, the other existing strap holds the cushion fine.  The chrome is excellent throughout.

An LC4 If bought from new would cost in the region of £4068 with a 6-8 week lead time.

Superb quality, not to be confused with the many poorly made reproductions for sale, the chaise was produced under license from the Foundation Le Corbusier as indicated by the serial number and Cassina marks to the frame and base.
